The stains of hair dyes on the skin at the ear, neck, or hands disappear on their own within 3 to 7 days, but accelerated removal prevents the coloration. Hurry–fresh dye is the least irritating to the skin.
Immediate Wipe-Down (First 5 Minutes)
Wet a cotton pad using cold water or micellar makeup remover (Bioderma Sensibio). Lightly circular swipes do not rub, and this dispels pigment. Semi permanent dyes are dissolved in baby oil or petroleum jelly (Vaseline), apply and leave 1 minute then tissue off.
Oil-Based Removal
Rub olive, coconut or argan oil on the stained parts. Massage half a minute; oils dissolve dye. Blot using tissue, rinse using warm soapy water (Dove unscented). Repeat for stubborn box dyes.
Baking Soda Paste (Gentle Exfoliant)
Combine 1 tsp baking soda and water in paste. Apply using soft toothbrush, rub lightly 20 seconds. Rinse cool water. Neutral pH is appropriate to sensitive skin; use a moisturizer following it (CeraVe lotion).
Makeup Remover or Toothpaste
The oil-free micellar water addresses waterproof formulas. Lightly buffs off (non-gel white toothpaste Colgate) – do not use abrasive gels. Rinse immediately.
Prevention Pro Tips
Vaseline delimiting pre-colouring; put on gloves. Use dye brush precisely. After washing: Wipe edges using remover-wetened Q-tip.
First patches of the test-harsh scrubs are dermatitic. Suffering brings forth clean skin undamaged.
